2019 Internation Conference on Environment  Engineering and Energy Science (ICEEES 2019)

On July 21-23 2019 | Geosciences International Conference Centre, Beijing, China

Keynote Speakers

Keynote Speaker I

Prof. Solomon Leung

Idaho State University, USA

Dr. Solomon Leung is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Idaho State University. He earned his B.A. (Chemistry), M.S. (Chemical Engineering), and Ph.D. (Civil and Environmental Engineering) from University of Iowa, USA.  His research interests are in physicochemical treatment processes of water and wastewater, environmental risk assessment and toxicology, and nanotoxicity.  His recent developments are biosensors, and novel applications with nanotechnology.  Dr. Leung has published multiple papers that have more than 10,000 reads and 5,000 downloads, he also received more than 1,000 citations for his publications over the years.

Keynote Speaker II

Prof. Chen Baodong

Chinese Academy of Sciences, China

Dr Baodong Chen is an experienced researcher in soil biology. He was awarded with JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers and Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers, and selected for “Hundred Talent Program” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. Under the support from several national research projects, he worked on stress physiology and ecology of arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis for 20 years since his postgraduate studies. He has unraveled the underlying mechanisms for the protective effects of mycorrhizal symbiosis on host plants against heavy metal contaminations; revealed the reciprocity between host plant and fungal symbiont under drought stress, and for the first time provided molecular evidences for water transport by AM fungi; characterized the responses of AM fungal community to environmental changes and anthropogenic disturbance in the farming-pastoral ectone of northern China, and supported the ecological importance of AM fungi in degraded ecosystems. Up to date, he has published more than 80 SCI-indexed research papers with H-index of 27. He is currently on editorial boards of Mycorrhiza, Pedobiologia, Acta Ecologia Sinica, Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology and Chinese Journal of Ecology. As one of the principal investigators, he received second prize of National Natural Science Award in 2009 and second prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress in 2014.

Keynote Speaker III

Prof Dr Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah
Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia

Prof. Dr Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah is currently the Deputy Dean (Research, Postgraduate & Network) at School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He received his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia in PhD (2004) in the field of chemical engineering. His research works mostly encompass the use of novel functionalized nanoporous materials as catalysts in was treatment, oleochemical conversions, green technology and production of renewable energy sources. He is among the pioneer researchers in the world to focus on the use of ultrasound to accelerate heterogeneous catalytic processes. He is the recipient of several innovation and publication awards based on his research works. His research expertise is often sought after for the assessment of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports on proposed strategic commercial projects such as oil refinery, petrochemical complex, sanitary landfill, smelting plant, used acid lead battery, paper mill etc. Various industrial problems have been successfully solved through his consultancy projects. He has been involved in the propagation of science and technology through more than 200 refereed publications in journals and book chapters mainly as the main author, and also involves as a technical committee member to nearly 110 international scientific conferences held across the globe. Many invitations on various roles have also been received locally and internationally to share his research experience with government officers, research scientists, junior researchers and school children. The objectives of the events vary from the latest development in nanoporous materials research, critical research skills, understanding science, promotion of sustainability, community awareness, carrier development to the understanding of policy and regulatory aspects. He is an academic external assessor to UniMAP and UniKL-MICET for their undergraduate and doctoral program, respectively while acted as an assessor for the selection of National Centre of Excellence (HICoE) in Malaysia. He also acts as an article reviewer to more than 100 different leading international journals in his area of expertise. In addition, he is an evaluator to research proposals received from the university, local ministries as well as international scientific associations in the USA, Oman, Qatar and Chile. He is one of the recipients of the Top Research Scientist Malaysia 2014 award. His h-index (Scopus) currently stands at 44.
